Sarah Mae

Last night i spent sometime with good friend miss sarah mae and it was a blast! Not only did i get to have a supper at this celebrity's house there was also quite a show! (insert sarahs laughter here) I told sarah that i am going to post on my site about the fact that we are actually friends and that in fact our husbands even work together and enjoy playing endless hours of video games together. I mean after all she is practically famous atleast the closest to a celebrity i have ever met. Not to mention that Angie from bring the rain and courtney from women living well are coming to her blogging conference. I would just like to say i would much rather meet those women then Julia Roberts! But, ok that may be a little stalkerish so moving on! I started to think about what Sarah's friendship and her encouragment means to me. I just wanted to let everyone know who the real Sarah is... She is super sweet and super encouraging and everything she says on her blog she really believes and trys to live out! I so often find myself thinking if only i could be more like that person. More organized like her, more spirtiual like her, and wiser like her. I get so caught up in others and what they think of me, i forget that we need to be in God's image not in "her" image!

So this month at youth group we are doing a video series by David Nasser (you should check him out hes awesome) called Why Jesus?! and last night i learned something so totally cool and new to me..
Did you know that Jesus fulfilled over 330 prophecies?! The chances of that happening is even less likely then if you lined up quarters knee deep across the state of Texas and put a mark on just one coin. Then blindfolded someone and told them to pick out the one with the mark on it. That's so awesome! There is no disputing that Jesus is the Messiah!

Then it got me thinking... how cool it is to have a God that proves himself to us even though he doesn't have to. To serve a God that knows we are a people who like facts and answers. I can't wait to watch as he continues to fulfill what is yet to come... and to know that heaven will be all that he said and more!

Then i guess i am CRAZY and loving every minute of it!!!!!

Valentines Day

I am one of those people that think valentines day is great. Not that i need another reason to spoil carlos and tell him how much i love him but, i just love the funness of a day just dedicated to loving on spouse. Usually i go all out with candy and all kinds of fun treats sometimes concert tickets and fun stuff like that. However, this year was different. My mom and i recently came across one of the greatest books i have ever read. Created to be his help meet by Debi Pearl. Though i think most would consider it a little over the top it was like God was so clearly speaking to me like i had never felt before. The words in that book spoke to my heart and shook me to the core. I realized something... I am not only selfish but i have not been doing what the lord has asked of me.
So for Valentines Day I am giving Carlos the gift i know far out weighs any other gift i could give him. Here are the words of the lord that i am going to be now making my life goal...

... then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home to be kind and to be suject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:4-5

I am sad to say i have not made the first 2.5 years of marriage very easy for my man and I certianly haven't obeyed the word but now with the help of God that is all about to change!

Are you humble?

While reading James yesterday morning, my mind stuck on this verse. Humble yoursevles before the lord and he will lift you up! James 4:10. I asked the lord do i really know what it means to be humble and am i really humble? Some of the definitions i found were meekness and modesty, Someone who does not boast, someone who is not self seeking. That last definition really hit me hard.... I am unfortunatly a little too self seeking. How often do i try to find ways to get ahead, find ways to relax instead of taking time with the lord and with the ministry the lord gave me. I am so quick to put myself first. Thus seeking myself first. I am sooo not humble... and i was suprised to find this out i never thought of myself as an unhumble person... So ask the lord...
